What is Green Tea

Green tea comes from a tea plant native to Asia called Camellia sinensis. Green tea has been used for thousands of years in both China and Japan, green tea is reputed to provide major health benefits. Green teas are available in leaf form, in tea bags, in nutritional supplements, as well as prepared beverages.

It has also been effective in lowering LDL cholesterol levels, and inhibiting the abnormal formation of blood clots. The latter takes on added importance when you consider that thrombosis (the formation of abnormal blood clots) is the leading cause of heart attacks and stroke.

How to prepare Green Tea

No specific recommendations are currently given for green tea; however, most people drink around 3 cups of tea each day. Some research indicates that as many as 10 cups of green tea may be needed each day to make a noticeable difference in health.
Green tea is made by adding 1 teaspoon of green tea leaves to 1 cup of boiling water. Allow to stand for 3 minutes. .
